The link below will give you a lot of information about the Del Mar community. Its schools and sights. The village of Del Mar is a great street, with views of the blue Pacific. Luxury homes can be seen on the hills and oceanfront homes can be viewed from the decks of one of the restaurants in the uniquely terraced and landscaped shopping mall.
The Del Mar Racetrack is not far from the village and during the 16 weeks when the horses are running, people from all over the world come to enjoy the sun and fun of Del Mar. The clubhouse is behind the racetrack which circles around the "lake." When Bing Crosby sang "Where the turf meets the surf" he was singing about this racetrack. He and a few of his cronies were responsible for building the track in Del Mar and then enjoying the races each year.
Seagrove Park- This is a park that will take your breath away. A beautiful lawn where one can relax, read a book or just become mesmerized by the pounding surf that is steps away. All this next to the community center which is adjacent to a great restaurant that sits on the sand. Walk just a few steps to a white sand beach. This is pretty terrific spot. It is this park that is at the end of 15th Street, one block from the Del Mar Village.
Powerhouse Community Center- Del Mar is an area blessed with a small community concerned about maintaining the feeling of their area as best as possible. The main beach in Del Mar is at the end of 15th Street. This street leads from the Del Mar Village, one block away, to Seagrove Park. At the park is the Powerhouse Community Center. It sits on the beach and is enjoyed year round. Parties, weddings and social gatherings take place in the Powerhouse.
