La Jolla has a population of approximately 30,000 people. The areas are La Jolla, while a bit different, are all beautiful and offer the visitor or occupant a lot to do.
Birdrock is located in the southern part of La Jolla. It sits on the ocean. The people who live in Birdrock are close knit and protective of their area. The area was named for the rock, in the ocean, that serves as a nesting rock for flocks of birds. That rock can be seen while strolling on the beach. The main street, La Jolla Blvd., has been altered in the recent past, giving the community the opportunity to create a village environment around it.
